Atari 800 RAMROM 2023 Personality Card:
$89.95

Benefits:
  • Allows for alternate operating systems and operating system configurations. i.e. Atari OS/B with Omnimon
  • Custom OS configurations can easily be flashed onto the supplied Flash ROM chip. (This chip is pre-configured, see below.)
  • Can be configured to provide 52k of base memory. (With normal 48k of installed base memory.)
  • Able to provide 128k of memory via Mosaic banking.
  • Can be configured to provide improved compatibility with newer cartridges if base memory is provided by newer SRAM by Newell’s RAMROD board.
  • Replaces the Atari 800’s 10k ROM Module.
  • Has sockets for with Atari’s 2 ROM chips and a Math Pack chip.
  • The Math Pack socket will also support Fast Chip. (Provides an average of a 220% increase in the speed of floating point operations.)
  • Fully compatible with Atari’s 16k RAM modules.
  • Has a socket for a flash ROM chip.
  • Can be configured to provide the following:
    • Up to 4 Operating systems on a flash ROM chip. These can be selected either on-board DIP switches or, optionally, external switches can be installed.
    • Fast Chip can be installed on the flash ROM to provide floating point operations that run at an average of 220% the speed of stock floating point operations.
    • 4K of extra RAM to provide 52k of Base Memory.
    • Add-on firmware such as Omniview and Omnimon.
    • 128K of Mosaic-banked memory.
    • All RAM, on this card, can be configured with a CR2032 battery back-up. (A Dallas DS1210 is required, and not included, for the battery back-up feature.)
    • Note that options that use the region from $C000-$CFFF are mutually exclusive. (i.e. Omnimon and 128k of Mosaic-banked memory use the region from $C000-$CFFF and, therefore cannot both be selected.)
  • Default installation on ROM chip:
    • Bank 1 (switch 1/4-off and switch 1/5-off)
      • Atari OS Rev. B with stock Math pack.
    • Bank 2 (switch 1/4-on and switch 1/5-off)
      • Atari OS Rev. B. with Fast Chip
    • Bank 3 (switch1/4-off and switch 1/5-on)
      • Atari OS Rev. B, Fast Chip, and Omnimon
      • OS is patched for proper Omnimon operation.
    • Bank 4 (switch 1/4-on and switch 1/5-on)
      • Atari OS Rev. B, Fast Chip, and Omniview800
    • Note: Banks 2 and 4 have the OS patched for a reduced key repeat rate, shortened bell, and the left margin set to 0.
  • Compatible with Axlon cards if on-board RAM is disabled.
  • Provides break-out pins for /S6 and /S7 for future upgrades.
  • Flash ROM chip is included.
  • Battery not included.
  • Second picture shows the RAMROM 2022 installed in an Atari 800. (Atari 800 not included, of course.)
  • All boards are assembled and tested as needed.
  • The 2023 version now has the ability to send the clock signal (Phi2) to the left cartridge so as to improve cartridge compatibility. (This jumper is on the back of the card and should only be changed from RAS Time to Phi2 if SRAM cards are being used for memory.)
Note: An optional DS1210 chip and CR2023 battery can be installed so the memory will be retained when the power is off. Both the chip and battery are supplied by the user. After installing the chip, DIP switches, above the chip, need to be turned to the "off" position.
