You are purchasing one piece of a newly made 68882 FPU coprocessor card manufactured by myself. The coprocessor card have been engineered using high quality 2 layer gold plated printed circuit board and has been professionally hand assembled using new components. Modules are guaranteed to be functional.

The card comes with an unpopulated socket where you supply your own 68882 PLCC FPU, or as an option with an original Motorola 68882 FPU PLCC chip already fitted.

This coprocessor card is compatible with the following computers:

  • Macintosh Classic II
  • Macintosh Performa 200

    • All of the machines above feature a 16-bit wide PDS slot. The 68882 can operate insynchronous or asynchronous modes, meaning that it can operate at the same clockspeed as the FPU, or at a different clock speed. The FPU card use the full 32-bit wide data bus using two possible clock sources:

    • Operation from the PDS clock:

    The jumper should be set in the "SYS" position and the 68882 clock is derived from the PDS 16MHz clock. Machines with a CPU running at higher than 16MHz still have a PDS clock of 16MHz to maintain compatibility with PDS cards designed for the PDS slot.

    • Operation from jumper should be set in the "OSC" position and a 5V crystal oscillator (not provided) should be fitted in the socket. The 68882 can run at a higher or lower clock speed than the system CPU.
