Vintage Kirby model C:
$590.00

I\'m selling a freshly restored Kirby model C from 1935. This machine was completely dissasembled and machine buffed. Both bearings, commutator end and fan end were replaced with new ones. The commutator showed nearly no wear whatsoever. This machine has the original bumper, original handle with wooden center section, and rubber hand grip. It also has the original data plate. The front wheels are original to the machine, the rear wheels came off an early electro hygiene, and while they look original, I did want to disclose that fact. The cord is an old Kirby cord that is not original to this machine, it does have some cracking, and one spot is taped, but the look of this round plug cord goes very well with this early machine. Obviously the bag is an original Kirby, but not original to the model C. Should be black and gold with red Kirby. Replacement bags are available, but at the costs, I felt I would not get the return back when selling. If you want to get the replacement bag, this machine would look stunning. This machine does have the correct smaller diameter emptor where the bag attaches, Nobody just put a complete bag and emptor off of a newer machine on it. It should probable have a brass belt guard as well, as long as we are nitpicking. The brush is fairly worn, but the adjusters in the brush housing freely screw up and down. The brush guard or bottom plate, unfortuneately, it is not original to the machine, It is a modified 505 plate that snaps into place, and actually does not look too bad. The last thing I would like to disclose, is the hammerhead headlight housing. Sometime in this machines 80 year life something hit the top of it pretty hard, There is one pit on the top of the housing, that was too deep to buff out. It is not a dent but a small gouge. It has a small crack in the housing as seen in the last picture. Now the good, the machine purrs like a kitten with the new bearings, headlight also works, The buff on the front nozzle is very nice as shown by the reflections. This is a very rare Kirby vacuum, many will find things wrong with it, but to the best of my knowledge, I have freely disclosed those. Shipping will be a flat $30 because of the time and effort needed to protect this classic.
