For your consideration, I am offering for sale an EXTREMELY RARE Commodore 8296-D SK Computer that was issued as part of Commodore\'s B Series in the early to Mid 1980s. This machine has a built in 8250LP dual Disk Drive. The drive is the equivalent to the Commodore 1001 drive (only dual!) This was the top of the line for the 8000 series computers of the day and very expensive to buy new. I have had this computer for many years. I hesitated to try it today but I did. The unit powers up, the drives go to their normal standby mode and green light and the Computer does the familiar chirp and the title screen comes up. I fired in a disk I had and checked both drives. They both get a directory fine and I managed to load a program fine from both drives. The computer seems to work fine. Note the LOW serial #. No other testing was done, however I believe this unit to be fully functional. This is truly a FLAGSHIP addition to any Commodore collection. No broken or missing keys.The monitor easily detaches and reassembles. This should avoid damage in shipping. For now, shipping is only estimated so please wait for an invoice before paying. I promise I will try to keep the shipping close to the estimation if I can. Computer is sold as is parts or repair although it is working as describedas ofthe time of listing. I STRONGLY suggest that before this machine is powered up for an extended period of time, the power supply be checked. It\'s at the age where they are now failing. It is working at the moment. I cannot offer any warranty on a 35 year old computer. Here is a chance to own a beautiful piece of Commodore history! Please keep in mind this computer runs on 220v NOT 110V.
