It’s February 2001, Steve Jobs has recently returned to Apple, and the excitement over the brand-new OS X operating system has reached a fever pitch! Anticipating the initial launch of Mac OS X 10.0 on March 24, Apple announces registration for its annual World Wide Developers Conference in May, and to commemorate this very special WWDC, Apple offers a limited edition, Burk\'s Bay genuine leather jacket with a glorious embroidered blue Apple Garamond “X” on the back to the first 1,500 attendees to pay the $1,595 registration fee.
I was one of those developers back in the day, and after receiving this beautiful leather jacket at the San Jose Convention Center, I kept it in its plastic cover and stored it away in a light-protected, temperature-controlled area of my smoke-free, pet-free home for the next 16 years. I’m now retrieving this never-worn, mint-condition, vintage and unique Apple collectible from storage and offering it for sale, just in time for this year’s WWDC conference. This is the ultimate in genuine Apple swag!
