Here is a lot of 3 9-track \'extra length\' magnetic tapes thatwere used on mainframe computers \'back in the day\'.
They are used, and in good condition, and should be usable for their original purpose, but I have no way to test them.
These taped are 3600\' long, unlike the \'standard\' tape that was 2400\'. The tape reel is the same size as the 2400\'s, so it would fit on standard tape drives, but the tape itself is manufactured slightly thinner than 2400\'s. The original length of the tapes was 3600 feet, but they may be slightly shorter due to \'clipping\' that usually occurred in production environments.
3600\'s were used in situations where a 2400\' just wasn\'t quite long enough to contain the data, and going to multiple reels was impractical.
They come with self-load tape seals, and write-enable rings.
