The STE "bad DMA myth"

This DMA chip was used in early STE's but a problem was found that hard drive data could become corrupted with this chip fitted, It was never the chip at fault as it was clearly used in the ST / STF / STFM and Mega ST with success, Atari used the same DMA chip in the STE (as manufacturers do to keep costs down) but the STE's circuit didn't work well with it so a modified DMA chip was designed for later STE's
