Check for the version of the a2ps package Detailed Explanation for this Vulnerability Assessment The remote host is missing the patch for the advisory MDKSA-2004:140 (a2ps). The GNU a2ps utility fails to properly sanitize filenames, which can be abused by a malicious user to execute arbitray commands with the rights of the user running the vulnerable application. The updated packages have been patched to prevent this problem.
