What This Is

A complete, working solution to a specific problem: you have a Mac or PC with no PCIe slots, and you need multiple channels of professional SDI capture and playback.

The Blackmagic DeckLink Duo 2 gives you four fully independent 3G-SDI connections, each configurable as input or output in any combination. The OWC Mercury Helios 3S puts that card on the end of a single Thunderbolt cable. Plug it into a MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, iMac, or any Thunderbolt laptop and you have four channels of broadcast SDI.

Bought separately these two pieces run roughly $750 to $830 new. This is both, tested together and ready to go.

This is the question everyone asks about a DeckLink in a Thunderbolt chassis, so here is the direct answer. Tested yesterday on a Mac Studio with Apple M1 Ultra running macOS Tahoe 26.5.2. The enclosure enumerated over Thunderbolt immediately, the DeckLink Duo 2 was recognized by Blackmagic Desktop Video with no troubleshooting, and the card was updated to the latest Blackmagic firmware while connected.

Nearly perfect. Used twice.

The aluminum enclosure is clean and straight with no dents, drops, or finish damage, showing only the faintest handling marks. All five BNC connectors are clean and bright with straight center pins and undamaged threads. Thumbscrews are present and turn freely. Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, and DC connectors are clean and undamaged. Rear labeling and serial are crisp and fully legible.

The interior is clean with no dust accumulation. The card is properly seated and the cooling fan spins freely with no bearing noise. Interior photos are included in this listing so you can see exactly what you are getting.

The OWC power supply and IEC cable are in excellent condition with intact strain relief. Smoke-free, climate-controlled use.

Tested on a Mac Studio with Apple M1 Ultra running macOS Tahoe 26.5.2. The chassis enumerates over Thunderbolt, the DeckLink Duo 2 is recognized by Blackmagic Desktop Video, and the card is running the latest Blackmagic firmware. Fan and power supply operate normally.
