Check for the version of the emacs package Detailed Explanation for this Vulnerability Assessment The remote host is missing the patch for the advisory MDKSA-2005:038 (emacs). Max Vozeler discovered several format string vulnerabilities in the movemail utility in Emacs. If a user connects to a malicious POP server, a possible hacker can execute arbitrary code as the user running emacs. The updated packages have been patched to correct the problem.
