All items are properly packaged and sent using care so they will arrive safely. Items that are sensitive are protected by insurance when their value is $250 or more. We may not insure all items.
Here's What to Expect Based Upon How We Classify Each Item We Sell:
We follow 's policies with respect to all matters, including how we advertise the condition of an item. To summarize this for you, here is what is meant by each item condition you may find attached to our items:
1 - New:
Brand new. These items include all original packaging. These items will have never been opened, and are still sealed with the original factory shrink wrap if applicable. These items will not have been used in any manner, with the possible exception to verify they are in working order in the case where the item can be removed without damaging the factory seal. An example of this - we sell "Brand New" Lightbulbs for use with the Phillips Hue system. I purchased these new, and they do not arrive shrink wrapped. The items were never used, but seeing they are sensitive electronics, I will plug them into a light fixture and ensure they turn on prior to shipping in an effort to protect customers from receiving merchandise that may be defective. If We are selling an iPad as Brand new, these will not be tested as they are sold shrink-wrapped and we will not break the factory seal.
2 - New (Other):
These are items that are brand new in condition but that have been opened in a manner that breaks the factory seal. These also include items that are brand new in condition and that may not come with original packaging, which we will clearly mark in the Straight Scoop section of our listings. New (other) items will arrive with all original power cords and all original accessories that would have come with the product when sold as new. In some cases, an original cable may be missing so I will replace with an identical version, and if this is the case, I will clearly mark this in the advertisement as well.
3 - Seller Refurbished:
These items have been inspected, cleaned, and verified free from any major cosmetic defect (such as dents that may impact the products function). We will verify the product is fully operational and prepare it for sale in an appropriate manner. As an example, a laptop computer may take 4-6 hours to upgrade from "used" status to "Seller refurbished". In this process, we will erase all hard drive partitions, install an operating system, run disk checks, partially disassemble the laptop and verify that all working/moving parts (such as fans) are operating properly (and quietly) and clean them using appropriate tools. We will also clean all devices (including the keyboard) with q-tips and proper cleaning solvent and then take photographs of the seller refurbished item and use those in our listing.
4 - Used
These items are sold as I find them. They are verified functional as advertised, though we do not take the extra time to clean and disassemble the products to the same extent (though we may do so partially), run system checks, replace missing parts (if any and as disclosed), and so on. An example of this may be a docking station iHome alarm clock that is functional but needs some cleaning and may be missing an antenna cable, power cord or an adapter. Another example would be an item with a crack or major cosmetic defect, which would prevent us from categorizing it as "seller refurbished" unless we repaired that defect.
We presently only use these four classifications in our listings.

We are a small seller focused on merchandise that is most often our personal property - this is truly a garage sale! Still, it is important to us that you are extremely satisfied with your purchase. Therefore If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, for most items, you can return the product within 7 days and get a full refund or exchange towards another item provided that any product you return remains in the same condition you received it and in the original packaging, and matches the photographs we take of the item the day of shipping. We do not accept returns on all items and those are marked accordingly.
You will receive your refund once we receive the item back and verify the return and condition of the item. The decision regarding whether or not to refund the purchase amount is at our discretion. Return shipping is at the buyer's expense. For larger items that matched the description as we advertised and are in working order, you may be responsible for our outbound shipping costs as well, at our your protection, I photograph all valuable items the day of shipping (especially electronics) in the same photo with that day's news (usually a webpage like CNN). In this way, you can be sure that the item we shipped was in proper working order and as advertised the day of the shipping. If an item is damaged in transit, we then have a record of this.
