ABOUT THE 1802

The 1802/COSMAC is a historically significant early 8-bit microprocessor originally developed by RCA.

Solid State Scientific was one of the manufacturers producing 1802-family devices, using the SCP prefix rather than RCA’s CDP designation. References specifically identify SCP1802D as an SSS 1802-family part.

These are especially interesting to:

• Vintage CPU collectors

• COSMAC 1802 collectors

• Early computer collectors

• Vintage semiconductor collectors

• Electronics historians

• Computer restoration enthusiasts

• Ceramic IC collectors

• Precious-metal recovery researchers

VINTAGE DATE MARKINGS

The photographed processors carry markings including:

7807 238

and

7810 251

These appear consistent with vintage 1978 production/date and lot identification markings.

CERAMIC / GOLD-TOP CONSTRUCTION

These are vintage ceramic-package ICs with gold-colored metalized tops and leads.

The packages are particularly desirable to collectors of early semiconductor technology.

No claim is being made regarding exact precious-metal content or recoverable gold yield.

They are being offered primarily as vintage collectible electronic components, although precious-metal recovery buyers may also find them interesting.

TESTING / CONDITION

ALL 5 ARE UNTESTED.

I have not electrically tested these processors and cannot guarantee functionality.

They are being sold AS-IS / UNTESTED for collecting, restoration, research, display, or component use.

Please inspect the photographs carefully for cosmetic condition, markings and lead condition.

Actual items shown in the photographs are included.
