Wonderful Piece of Prohibition Era History!
We were told that this Growler was used in a Brothel.
We also found that these Growlerswere made to be used at the Schlitz Hotel by guests to take their beer up to their rooms. It\'s hand blown in amber colored glass. Has a porcelain stopper that normally reads: “SCHLITZ / THE BEER THAT MADE / MILWAUKEE FAMOUS” in blue.**The word \"BEER\" was removed/ground out of the Stopper, however.**
The phrase on the Top reads , \"THE[blank] THAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS\", instead of \"THE BEER THAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS.\"
All the plated metal hardware is complete & original.We read today that during Prohibition, Schlitz changed its name from Brewing Company to Beverage Company, and adapted its slogan to \"Thedrink thatmade Milwaukee Famous.\"
The Growler Measures approx. 11\" Tall with the Top in Place x 6\" (From the Handle to the Side of the Bottle) x 4\" at the Widest Part of the Bottle

Condition :Very nice overall condition -- we have not removed the stopper because we\'re afraid of damagingthe seal. The surface of the bottle has some small nicks and scratches. As we mentioned above, theword \"BEER\" was ground out of the stopper in the bottle. There is a small spot on the stopper that\'s an unglazed area that got dirty.
