VINTAGE KODAK EASTMAN VIEW 2-D
CAMERA (5x7)

Up for sale is a vintage Kodak Eastman View 2-D large format camera. The 2-D camera was introduced in 1921 and manufactured until 1950. I believe this is an early model from the 1920\'s or 1930\'s (Graflex does not appear on name plate). I\'m a bit confused by the various sizes made for the 2-D, but I think this is the 5x7 model. It has a back opening of 8\" x 8\". When fully extended on the front rails, the camera measures approximately 14\" long. The tail piece is an additional 9 3/4\". The serial number is 147256.

The lens board measures approximately 4 1/2\" square and holds a Wollensak Velostigmat Series II 7 1/4\"/4.5 lens. The camera body is made of mahogany with brass harware. The base is made of cherry and the bellows are black leatherette. The camera comes with 2 backs. One of the backs has a glass plate that measures 5\"x7\". The other reducing back has a glass plate that measures 3 1/2\" x 4\", an unusual size I believe. This smaller size back is marked \"MADE BY GRAFLEX, INC. ROCHESTER, N.Y. U.S.A.\" (see photo). I purchased this camera at an estate sale last month. I\'m not very familiar with these large format cameras, so please use your own knowledge when offerding.Condition of this vintage Kodak Eastman View 2-D camera appears to be FAIR. The bellows look good with no obvious cracks or holes. The shutter appears to work fine. The glass lens has a bruise along the edge on one side (see photo) that may not affect optics (not sure). The original leather carrying strap is missing and was replaced with a plastic strap. The wooden pieces are all intact but show a lot of scratches and wear. All the brass hardware appears to be present. I don\'t know if the camera is completely functional, but I have no reason to believe that it won\'t work fine. Regardless, I am selling this camera as a collectible display piece with no returns. Please take a close look at the many photos I\'ve provided and judge condition for yourself. I\'m confident you\'ll be very pleased with this purchase.

If you collect antique cameras, particularly large format types, don\'t miss your opportunity to offer on this offering. This camera WILL be sold to the highest buyer!
