FABULOUS 16” Carved Hair Schoenhut 200 Series Boy w/Orig 3 Piece Tuxedo LR :
$650.00

Here is a fabulous, carved hair 200 series Schoenhut character boy made in the early 1900\'s by the Schoenhut Doll Factory. He is in what I’d say, great condition with a wonderful face and expression, marvelous big carved blue intaglio eyes with white dots, outstanding carved brown hair and an excellent body. He is wearing what I think is his original 3 piece wool tuxedo with antique socks and shoes, all in excellent condition. If you have a top hat think how exceptional he would look. He is 16” tall and impressed on his back Schoenhut Doll Foreign Countries and was made in the USA in the early 1900’s and believe he is from the early 200 series. I think his face is wonderful, despite the crazing. As you can see he has some crazing between his eyes, the normal paint flake on the tip of his nose along with some wear on his upper lip and chin. He has had no touch ups or repairs to any part of his face, hair or body. He has the normal wear on his body, legs and arms. His coloring is wonderful and his lips are great and still has the original light pinkish color between his lips. His brows are great but a little faded and he has fabulous deeply carved blue intaglio eyes with white dots. His face smooth to the touch and is so expressive with original finish. I was told many years back, if you can see the wood grain on the face it makes the Schoenhut much earlier then others. His deeply carved brown hair is excellent and is swept to the side like most little boys from that era. His hair has some rubbing or lighter spots in the back of his hair but the color is still marvelous. His wood jointed body is in excellent condition and still retains the original finish. He is impressed on his back Schoenhut Doll Foreign Countries. He has no touch ups, repairs, peeling, or flaking but there is some wear here and there or maybe its some sort of discoloration. I have not tired to clean them as it’s so easy to take the finish off a Schoenhut. His hands are super with wear around the wrists and on the tips of her fingers but he has all his fingers. This 200 series body is more chunky then others and still nice and tight with original spring joints so he can pose any way you want. He is wearing an amazing 3 piece wool tuxedo or suit in excellent condition and I think it’s original. His high collar white short sleeve dress shirt is wonderful but that I’m sure is not original and quite fitting to go with his suit. His long wool pants are outstanding with a snap on the side with silk bands down the sides of his pants and crisp pressed creases down the center so he really is ready to walk down the isle. His vest is marvelous and wool like the rest of his outfit and is silk lined and I like the silk in the back of the vest. His vest has darker white heavy trim down the front that protrudes a bit from the edge of the black. There is a couple tears on the seem on each side under the arm which will be easy to fit but I don’t sew or mend but you won’t notice with his jacket on. His long sleeve wool jacket is marvelous and looks like it has a super light pin striping the same as his jacket. His jacket has a wider collar around the back, then forms the lapels in front and lined with silk. The silk is shiny and shows off the front of his vest. The jacket has 2 snaps below the middle so it forms a V in front and is a bit wider around the bottom along with a little pocket on top. He has antique socks and his side snap boots are marvelous and makes him the perfect groom. I don\'t get the carved hair Schoenhut boys very often and boy is wonderful with a fabulous expression and will make an outstanding addition to any collection, or a wonderful surprise standing in the middle of your Easter basket. This fabulous, hard to find, carved hair 16\" Schoenhut 200 series character boy seems to sell for well above $1800.00 but my reserve is less so don\'t let him get away. Lucky winner pays $33.00 S/I and international would be more. Email any questions and thanks for looking.
