We are proud to introduce the new Sound of China travel size guzheng. This beautiful guzheng is custom-designed by Sound of China Guzheng Music. All the making materials including soundboards, frames, strings and bridges are carefully selected by Sound of China professionals. The top and the bottom sound boards are both made by a single piece of paulownia that were dried using special Shanghai method that provides the classical sweet tone of the guzheng. The frame is made by rosewood decorated with Chinese painting in the \"praising lotus\" design. We put in extra efforts to bring this travel-size comparable to the sound quality of a standard size guzheng.First, we add the thickness of the soundboard, and redesign the sound chamber to enhance the sound quality and volume. Second, the bridges are designed to fit the travel-size body. Third, the strings are professional quality strings using German music wire. Together, they will keep the guzheng in-tune, and do not go out of tune easily.The string spacing is exactly like the standard size. Most travel-size guzheng have smaller string spacing that makes people always pluck the wrong string when switching between the two sizes.Last and the most important, we use extra fine materials. We use premium quality soundboards and rosewood frame to ensure the sound quality of this model is as full and rich as a standard size guzheng. The sound of this guzheng is sweet, rich and resonant.And, yes, we want to make it affordable so everyone can enjoy this beautiful instrument. Under 100cm(<40\") : Toy replica Pleasebe aware that anything under 100cm is generally not playable!!! Thereis no volume. All strings sound flat, and the strings spacing arereally small for your fingers. It\'s more of a novelty item than anactually instrument.

100cm -125cm (40-49\") : Baby Guzheng Thisis is made for kids who have smaller hands. The sound is ok. The bassis flat because the bass strings don\'t have the desired length to keepthe pitch steady. The string spacing is small for an adult, but ok for 4-6 year old kids to start learning.

125cm-155cm (50-61\") : Travel Guzheng Thissize is made for convenient traveling. The sound varies from differentmakers. A good one can sound as good as a standard size, but a bad onesounds just like a baby guzheng. The string spacing also varies. Somemakers make them smaller, and some makers make them just like thestandard ones.

160cm+ (>61\") : Standard Guzheng Thisis the standard size for guzheng. All the strings have the desiredlength to keep the pitch in tune. String spacing is standard foradult\'s fingers. Sound quality varies on different models and differentmakers.
