Martin Handcraft Committee trumpet, Chris Botti:
$1550.00

Here comes a rare and highly sought after MARTIN HANDCRAFT Committee trumpet. Serial number 136542 is from 1939 when the first Committee models were manufactured in the famous Elkhart plant. The \"Committee\" was Vincent Bach, Elden Benge and Renold Schilke - everybody added his best in the joint venture to create the best trumpet ever built at that time.Miles Davis played exclusively on Committees from the 50ies on. Dizzy Gillespie and Chet Baker and many others played Martin Committees in the fities and sixties. The early Martin Committee models (Handcraft) are among the best and hardest sought after jazz trumpets ever built, Chris Botti plays a Martin Handcraft from exactly that time.
It\'s the Nr. 2 model with a bore of .453 and a very open bell flare. This horn is in perfect playing condition with smooth and tight valves. The finish is original lacquer with some signs of use: the remaining lacquer is about 80%. There areno dents andno signs of corrosion or red hot, just a few scratches on the surface and two patches on the bell that were added a long time ago.
On the bell, it says \"MARTIN / Handcraft / COMMITTEE-Model / ELKHART-IND. / USA\"
Please note that I\'m offering this rare beauty from Switzerland to worldwide, airmail shipping to the States is $57, please ask for other international destinations.
