Here comes a silverplated ca 1965 vintage GETZEN ETERNA DOC SEVERINSEN MODEL Bb trumpet. This was the top of the line Getzen model, built for Doc Severinsen, who was the leader and soloist of the Tonight Show Orchestra at that time. This trumpet is an approved pro horn with a medium large bore .458 and a few secret modifications which make this horn very desirable.Serial number is SK 2134 which dates its manufacture to about 1965 - so this was one of the very first DOC horns. The shape of the valves is impeccable with good compression. The original silverplating is about 90% with some signs of use on the surface. There are some solder traces and evidence of a dent removal on the bell near the valve block. One patch is visible on the bell downside where the left thumb holds the horn. The water keys seem to be replaced. There are some no dents, but a few dings from normal use after 50 years. No red hot or corrosion on the brass alloy.Other than that, this horn is in very good condition with a recent overhaul and chem clean. The most importat fact about it is that it plays really great - huge sizzling sound and perfect evenness all over the range. The mouthpiece is a DENIS WICK Nr 5, there is no original case .
Please mind that I offer this rare vintage pro horn from Switzerland to worldwide, airmail priority shipping to the US is $53, please ask for other international destinations.
