The Dietz Lantern Compendium states the following:

***Railroad #6 (Bellbottom)7/8\"#6DFUses a non-interchangeable 6\" globe instead of the typical
5 3/8\" #39 Globe, feature possibly used to deter theft. Discontinued in 1919

This Dietz No. 6 bellbottom railroad lantern is in very good shape and possesses a fantastic aged-tin patina. The lantern bell bottom is free of dents and cracks and the dome is in good shape too. The drop-down fuel potis in good working condition with just a bit of oxidation but no dents or holes. The BLUE Kirkman No. 6 RR globe has slightly raised letters with the NEW YORK CENTRAL words cast into the glass. It is free of any major scratches and has nocracks...just a few swirls in the glass and flea bites on the rims.
