Serial number dates it back to late 1923, made in Elkhart, Indiana, USA. This is the Conn 22B \"New York Symphony\" early model, bore #1, which is 0.438\". Bell is gold-plated with minor wear. The main body is silver plated, with wear at the usual contact points, along with some minor tarnish on the bell. The very small dents on the instrument do not affect its playing whatsoever and mostly are located on the bell. Main tuning slide moves freely and easily. The first and second valve tuning slides are easy to remove, but not easy as in being able to move them while playing. This trumpet comes with a fair-condition, old case that has heavy wear and a faint musty smell inside, along with a Brasswind and Woodwind valve oil bottle.I have already soaked the trumpet in a water bath and have cleaned the slides as best as I can. the valves are in excellent condition for a trumpet of this age; they move like warm butter and are much faster than my brand-new Jupiter. As a tip, I advise the buyer not to use blue juice or the valve oil it comes with; I used Monster Oil, and that has worked wonders on the valves. (this is not meant to sponsor them, but it\'s for the good of the trumpet.)It has a great tone and a bold, carrying sound, unusual to me for a small bore trumpet. The photos might seem a little misleading due to the glare.
