Österreich / Ostmark Luftwaffe Air Force Dress Daggerpre-WWII Third Reich era 1930‘s

M1935 Austrian Luftschutz / Air Defense officer’s dagger.

This is a fine pre-WWII or pre-Third Reich ear Austrian air defenseofficer’s dress dagger.

Manufacturer Zeitner, Wien VIII.

Nickel plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/agepatina to the pommel in the form of a stylized crown of Rudolf II, and acrossguard of stylized wings with a central undamaged enamel white triangle onred background insignia of the Austrian Air Force. Underside of the rightquillon is equipped with a small hook to hold the portepee in place. White plastic-likegrip shows light surface wear/minor scratches, but no chips or cracks. Platedcross diamond-section blade in very good condition showing minor surface wearwith /age residue near the crossguard but no nicks to the cutting edges. Nickelplated scabbard shows light surface wear. Scabbard is complete with twointegral scabbard bands/rings with a vertical propeller in the center.

Blade is near mint. You only see light reflections in someof the images.
