This Pair of Vintage Altec Lansing A7-500 Speakers need a new home.Two speakers:
2pcs Older All-Plywood Altec Cabinets - not particle board- still have a (barely readable) paper tag inside.
2pcs Horn Sleds
2pcs 511B 500 Hz Horns
2pcs 806A - 16 ohm HF Drivers
2pcs LF Drivers Woofers are newer reproductions. Warehouse Garage Speaker WGS-BG15C - 16 ohm Not Altec, but very nice woofers. Cast Frame. Weigh 22 lbs each.
No crossovers - Crossover opening has a blanking plate with 4-pole Neutrik connectors for input and 2-pole Neutrik connector to connect HF Driver.
All drivers work fine and sound great. I\'ve been using these for five years with no problems.I have been bi-amping these with an electronic crossover. You can continue to bi-amp or it\'s pretty easy to find crossovers.
The cabinets are in pretty good shape. Solid and square. I sanded them down and painted them grey. I also added a grille cloth over the port.
The horns are is good condition with original paint and labels. One label is missing a corner.
The HF drivers are nearly flawless. Must be original diaphragms. The red sealing paint on the cover screws is unmolested.
These work well as-is or would be a great low-cost starting point for a full restoration project.

They\'re big. They\'re heavy. They\'re extremely efficient. With just a couple of Watts they\'ll fill a room or your whole backyard with sound.

I drive them with 12 volt battery-powered equipment . They\'re awesome at the Musical Fireworks on the 4th.

Estimated 175 pounds Each Speaker I\'m just a hobbyist and play with this stuff. Everything I sell I\'ve used for my own pleasure. I still use these frequently. They\'re a lot of fun. On Halloween I put them on my front porch and play creepy music. It fills the neighborhood. You should probably consider picking them up. Or, I have a pickup truck, we could meet somewhere within a reasonable distance. I\'m happy to ship them anywhere at cost. I won\'t charge anything for my time. For packing, I can wrap them in moving blankets and plastic and strap them to a skid for $45
If you really want them crated, I\'ll have to charge whatever it costs for packing - pre-cut knockdown crates from quickcrate.com are $250 each. though. Maybe I\'ll have to build crates. Did I mention you should come pick them up?

There have been several inquiries regarding international shipment.The listing says ship to USA. I will only arrange shipment within the US But, I\'ll gladly ship to a freight forwarder in the US - most likely East Coast or West Coast - If you make the arrangements from there. I have done this before, shipping Large Altec Lansing Speakers to ultimately be delivered internationally. Having the freight forwarder working for you is to your advantage.For international shipping, you\'ll probably want them crated, I can crate them and arrange shipment in Continental US. They will need 2 crates. UPS Freight estimate is $1350 from my location to Port of LA area. This is just an estimate. It could be higher or lower depending on exact location.I won\'t charge for my time in packing them. I\'ll only charge for the actual cost of the materials. The actual cost of crating materials will be about $650. The horns and drivers can be put inside the main cabinets to save space, which would require only 2 crates. Or if you prefer, I can put the horns and drivers in a separate crate.Feel free to investigate any shipping options you want. There are many online resources. UPS,com is only one.
