I am down sizing my collection of exceptional radios. Yes, there comes a time when you have to part with some of your favorites and this is one of mine.
This 1935 Zenith S 829 is in great condition. I bought it from a collector several years ago andit has always been a center piece and an awesome performer.
The Cabinet was nicely restored by the previous collector. He went to great detail to bring it around to its original condition. All veneer and joints are tight, no lifting. No patches or replacements. No apologies need. The chrome grille is original. Original dial, pointer, lens and knobs. The radio has its original grille cloth too. You will only find a handful of these sets and it is doubtful that they will have the original grill cloth.There are a couple of runs in the fabric but, my decision was to keep it original and it looks just fine and seems to blend right in to the peacock design.You cannot replace this pattern and in my opinion and because you can\'t find the pattern, \"Keep it the way it is.\" The knobs are in great shape and operate smoothly. The Cabinet is 18 high 14 wide and 8 inches deep.
The Chassis, has been completely restored with new capacitors and electrolytic\'s. It has been aligned per factory spec\'s, tubes tested perfect and replaced with new old stock, if needed. It is immaculate! All matching numbers. The wiring, on top, is original and in great shape. The speaker is original to the radio the cone is excellent. It is so clean, you could eat off of the chassis. The set picks up stations across all bands loud and clear. Original wire antenna included.
