This sale is for an original vintage Gilmore Stadium located in Los Angeles, Ca. race checkered flag dating from the 1930\'s. The flag is a very unique racing flag. Not sure the exact history of the flag but was found at a recent estate of along time sprint car driver and racer during the 1930\'s-1940\'s. The flag has names of drivers and people linked to Gilmore Stadium hand stitched on it. Names are mostly drivers. People like Jim Royer, Louie Foy, Bill Ingram, Tommy Elliott, Parnelli Jones, Wild Bill Zaring, Jimmy Miller, Johnny McDowell, Earl Motter and so many more. Some have the name of their car they raced and also date. The flag has the original stitched side edges and is made of a cotton cloth material. It is an original and very hard to find. Has the \"Roar with Gilmore\" lion in the center. In overall nice original condition with light normal wear from age. No tears, no rips and no repairs. Color is nice and ready to display. Measures approx. 33 1/8\" by 22 5/8\". Very cool early racing item and is a must for any collector. If you have any information on this one of a kind item, I would appreciate any help. Thank you. Found safely stored away at a recent 95 year estate of along time local Hot Rodder/race car driver and has been safely stored away for years The glare spots are from the lights reflection and NOT on the actual surface of the item.
