An extremely rare possibly unique circa 1850\'s graphite pontil marked medium /dark green bottle which is embossed C Cleminshaw / Troy N.Y. on one side and Philadelphia / XXX / Porter & Ale on the other. While the beautiful C Cleminshaw squat sodas in various shades of blue show up with some degree of frequency the green specimens are much harder to find and this is the first I have seen which has the beer related embossing on the reverse showing that Cleminshaw bottled porter and ales in addition to soda. The bottle stands approximately 6 1/2\" tall with a diameter of 2 1/2\" and has a very crudely applied lip and the base has a large graphite pontil. Condition - has a surface bruise near the base edge below the R of porter and there may be a flat sliver type flake on the very top edge of the lip (its rather hard to tell as the lip is so crude and it is located where the lip sort of dips down). A extremely rare bottle which could fit into a early soda or beer collection or for the collector of Troy New York related bottles.
