Up for sale here is a vintage King Liberty Model trumpet, made by HN White. This is a standard Bb trumpet and has a serial # of 134653, which dates it somewhere between 1930-35 (I\'d guess it\'s from 1930-31). As can be seen in the photos, it\'s got it\'s fair share of flaws, but is in fact playable as tested by a trumpet playingcolleague of mine. I will list the flaws in a list format here:-Crack in the leadpipe near the tip. It does not appear to be leaking, but if it is, it is very minor leakage. There is some subsequent bulging and another tiny crack or two starting there.-Crack & dent in the first valve cap. This crack definitely goes through, though it is only about 1/4\" across.-Various small to medium sized dents throughout, along with a large one on the bell. Wear & loss to the plating, scratches, etc.-Bent adjustment screw tip on the third valve slide. Still works fine.-First segment of the main tuning slide is stuck tight.-Finger hook was broken off and resoldered. The adjacent support bar may have been resoldered as well.-Missing third valve sliding ring and set screw.-Third valve stem is a little \"clicky\", first is a tad delayed (may just need more oiling).-Has been polished, but not re-plated.
I think that highlights everything that\'s wrong with it as far as I can see. It is still a working trumpet regardless, and with a little handywork, it would make an excellent & fully functional vintage horn. Also included is a Rudy Muck Cushion Run 19c mouthpiece. It has extensive plating loss and light wear/dings, but is perfectly functional. The original case has heavy external wear, but is solid and does it\'s job. The latches do not close unless you physically pull back on the RESERVE
