Antique AG Meakin ironstone China soup tureen with cover, white - 1800s:

The outside of the tureen has no design. It rests on a pedestal foot. There is an exterior seam under each handle. There are two ornate tripod handles. The surface is scuffed especially around the bulging circumference, and has slight irregularities and a few specks. The handles are worn on the edges. The lip is mostly smooth, but is a bit rough in a few places. The contact area of the underside of the base is rough, darkened, and worn through in places. The smooth underside has an inked maker\'s mark: A G Meakin Ironstone China.The inside of the tureen is smooth. In the bottom are several nicks and a few webby cracks in the glaze.
The cover has an embossed floral design. Out of the embossing at the top comes a rose handle. There is a hole in the side for a ladle [not included]. The outside of the cover has spots and specks in it. The edges of the rose are a bit worn. The inside of the cover is in good condition. The contact edge is a little rough and darkened.
