C.M.& St. P.Ry. BRASS TOP BELL BOTTOM TALL GLOBE RAIL ROAD LANTERN WOW :
$190.27

A great opportunity to add a classic railroad lantern to your collection...if you seek mint, this is not for you...this was not on the shelf, but saw service on the train...the desirable lantern was part of the legendary C.M.& St. P. Ry. !This one dates from about 1908 when the last patent date was stamped on the rim. The BRASS TOP dome is the BEEHIVE type and in great shape...C.M.& St. P. Ry is nicely embossed on the rim. A patent date is stamped on the rim May 5, 1905. The first patent date is embossed PATENTED MAY 28 , 1895...This is the older model TALL Lantern, with singlewire guard. The TWIST OFF BELL BOTTOM comes off easily and has a functional burnerin good shape, with the brass wick cover and raiser working fine...comes off with no difficulty... TALL CLEAR CORNING MARKED GLOBE has C. M.& St. P. Rycast in an oval panel...opposite side has SAFETY FIRST cast into the globe... globe is in great shape with a few minor rim nicks... The only issue I see is the release for the rim to open is functioning but the thumb pad is gone...I have to open in with my finger nail, but easily secures...a slight oxidation appears on the bell ...NO pin holes!...A really nice lantern here! VERY COLLECTIBLE CONDITION...DON\'T MISS OUT!
