A gorgeous pectoral Mexican sterling necklace that measures 15\" in length overall--it is difficult to measure, but from the clasp to the hinged portion of the necklace, it is 7 1/2\" in length on each side.
The pendant measure 5\" at its widest point. For the many years that it has been in my possession, I have never polished it, so it has a lovely patina. The piece is in excellent condition except for one small \"ding\" which you can examine in the photos. It is marked \"MEX STERLING RAF\" (?) in a circle with the initial \"G\" in the middle. There is also an eagle in silhouette marked \"28\" (\"23\"?). I am not an expert in Mexican silver, but I do believe it dates from the mid-1940\'s. A very dramatic, well-made piece with a lot of presence and panache for your collection or for your wardrobe.
