Up for your consideration is a meticulously restored, cast iron, wood beam, \"Ney Manufacturing\" hay trolley in excellent condition!

This trolley is complete with the correct fork pulley and functions just like the day it was made. I disassembled and then meticulously cleaned and media blasted this hay trolley of all dirt, paint and rust, right down to the bare cast iron.

**There is no paint on this trolley.**

After stripping, the trolley wasthen carefully airbrushed with a proprietary ceramic resin to protect the cast iron from corrosion and enhance its natural beauty. From there, it was thermally cured in an oven at 400 degrees for an hour, in order to harden the coating. The color is a flat, gunmetal gray. The wood pulley wheels were stripped, sanded and refinished with American walnut stain, then sealed with a mild coat of urethane.

This ceramic resin was originally designed with the U.S. military in mind,and it far exceeds anymilitary specifications in durability, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and provides unparalleled levels of hardness and adhesion. It is also highly resistant to most solvents and chemicals.

Overkill for protecting and finishing antique trolley you say? Perhaps, but I take great pride in these restorations, and I believe that most people will have these in their homes or restaurantson display; therefore, they should be nothing less than perfect. The flat, clean finish that this ceramic coating provides is simply unmatched by any other product, and it goes on as thin as water with an airbrush, so all the detail of the natural cast iron is maintained. Zoom in on the pictures and you will see what I mean. This detail would be all but lost if the trolley was spray painted.

The trolley measures 19\" across x 25\" tall (including the fork pulley) x 7\" wide. Both lower sheaves and all four upper track wheels turn smoothly and work just as they should. The top carrier section rotates smoothly, and the locking mechanism for the hay fork pulley functions perfectly. There are small, hairline stress cracks on the spokes of the upper track wheels, as shown in picture 12; however, the spokes are very firm in place and it certainly does not detract from the functionality or beauty of this trolley in any way.
