Let the photos talk. This is a very early wooden doll. Estate find. It does not look to be home made the body is wood, jointed. The arms are fabric, and look to be original, as do the clothes. The head is wooden with a compostion type material covering the wood. Painted rosey cheeks, mouth and eye brows. Glass eyes. The feet are missing. She is about 12\" from top of head to bottom of dress. The composition material is chiped on her nose, and there are some other imperfections. There is what looks to be. Like a small square nail head exposed at the top of her head covered with her bonnet, and another 2 at the back base of her head, again covered with her bonnet. Her dress looks to be oil cloth, the fancy part looks like long pieces of thread. Very unique and interesting piece. I would guess age about 1850 or earlier.
