Rare Wallace Heaton 3x4 inch Folding Plate Camera, struttype.
Wallace Heaton Ltd strut folding focal plane camera for glass plates,size 7,5x10cm (3x4 inch).
Rare camera with very attractive brass trimmings.
Manufactured in 1910/1920 (England?).
No name on body, only on lens:
WallaceHeaton Sheffield & London, No 2 Zodellar Anastigmat f4.5 P13,5cm. Noserial number.
Lens is in very good condition, clear, no fungus, noscratches.
The aperture has 21blades and work smoothly.
The lens has a focusing handle.
The strut mechanism and the bellows are in goodcondition.
The very complex focal plane shutter works, but I cannot guarantee that thespeeds are accurate or even that it is working properly, as my knowledge islimited on this type of shutter. The blinds are a bit wrinkled.
The exterior of the camera is in good condition.
The side handle is good and the viewfinder is completeand bright.
The rear plate with ground glass and hood, slides inand out freely and is in good condition. (Don’t know if it’s the originalground glass holder as the leather looks different).
The camera weights about 1155 grams.
