The Catalyst 3560G-48PS-E switch includes 48 ports that come with Ethernet, fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet. Each of these ports support power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, which is defined by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.3a industry standard. All 48 PoE ports can supply 15.4 watts when only 24 ports are used, and 7.7 watts when all 48 ports are utilized. PoE eliminates wall power delivery to PoE-compliant devices by enabling network cables to carry both electric current and data connection to network-attached devices, including wireless local area network (WLAN) access points, Cisco Internet protocol (IP) phones, Cisco Aironet and any IEEE 802.3a PoE-compatible devices. This translates to a lower total cost of ownership and significant savings for your organization. For enhanced protection against electrical outages and failures, you can combine the switch with Cisco’s redundant power system for an uninterruptible power supply. Drawing on the EnergyWise solution, the Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS-E switch is also energy efficient and eco-friendly. With EnergyWise, you can monitor and control your energy consumption. Other integrated features found in the Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS-E switch include advanced quality of service (QoS), simple network management protocol (SNMP), IPv6 support, IP routing, auto-negotiation and auto-sensing, auto uplink, policy-based routing, and traffic shaping.
