This CPU works great. But the pins were bent so I had a hard time fitting it into the socket. Straightening the pins is not an easy task to do without magnification

I purchased this as an upgrade to a Celeron that was running at 3.2 GHz. Not only is the computer faster, it is running cooler as well. The system fan cycles about 75% less than what it did with the previous processor. I coupled this with a 1GB memory upgrade as well, which probably contributed to the change also. Would recommend the same type of processor and RAM update for any older PC, especially if you are going to move to Windows 7. Older PCs aren't necessarily out of date if you do some upgrades in the right place.
