Although the older PCI bus is limited to 133 Mb/s and Wireless-N speeds can approach 450 Mb/s (theoretical) you would be hard pressed to notice any relative speed differences between this PCI Wireless N card and a Wireless-N PCI-E 1.0 card. This card is great for putting to use an unused PCI slot on an older motherboard while freeing up your PCI-E bus for things like graphics card, SSD or sound cards. You would normally only have a single device on the PCI bus anyways so your network card wii most likely be isolated by itself which is what you want on a PCI bus card. Obviously for Wireless-AC speeds you definitely NEED a PCI-E card - in fact I don't think they make PCI Wireless AC cards. At this price point it is perfect for getting older computers onto a wireless network B/G/N at low cost. I have had one installed for over 2 years now and is still going strong. Driver support is included in Windows 7 and later although the card will also function in Windows Vista.Read full review

This card was kind of my only option in my rig. My RX 470 covers the mini PCI-e slot on my ASUS board, so the far superior TP-LINK WDN4800 I had was not usable. This card is only a 32 bit PCI card, but it still reaches speeds up to 130 Mbps apparently. I only get 50 from my ISP, so that's not a huge deal to me, but for someone who does, I can't recommend this card when better options exist for a fraction more. Driver installation is wrong in Windows 10. You have to point your card towards a vista driver that the CD (for some reason) does not install on its own, in order to see 5GHz networks. The card performs well, and I guess if it is your only option on your rig, then go for it.

I have tried D-Link, Netgear and some other brands and have always come back to Linksys in the end. In my years of working with Windows from the early days to WIndows 10, I have not found a better wireless card for older PC's that still have an available 32-bit PCI 2.0 or 2.1 slot. I recommend using the 3.2.7 driver set from Ralink as opposed to the drivers fro Linksys or even the ones that WIndows 7, 8 and 10 have included.

This product performed well, increasing our internet connection noticeably. Keep in mind, however, you may need to updgrade your router as well to take advantage of it's full wireless-N capabilities.

Needed wireless connection for young kids desktop. Works great, easy install. Price was fantastic for dual antenna wireless that beats out most others on market. Would strongly recommend to buy to get a powerful and great track record product. Can find a lot used so discount for consumers can be realized:)
