The panel is simple to navigate with the clearly marked labels that are along the left-hand side of the ports. White lettering guides your understanding of all the nearby indicators. In fact, seven indicator lights will tell you about the core functions. These include power status, bandwidth utilization, port transmission speed, link activity, system diagnostics, port duplex mode, and link OK. This Cisco Catalyst series switch comes with two communication modes to fully transfer any data through full- or half-duplex configurations.This series of switches focuses on investment protection and efficiency as you deploy secure converged applications. Looking carefully at the nearly 2-inch tall 3560-E switch, you'll notice that the 48 ports are centered on the front panel. The side panels have a unique configuration of vents that cool off this networking device when conditions are warm. great 1g switch
now that these switches are EOL the prices have plummeted. You can upgrade these to the 15 code base which makes them now fullly featured for CCIE studying. Plus it comes with 2 10g ports if you need that kind of bandwidth. Now its worth it to change out the older 3560 switches which are 100 base.

Fast switch with 10GB uplinks. It's end of sale, so it's starting to get cheaper, and used X2 modules are available on ebay, so it's probably the easiest way to get 10-gigabit in your network.
