I came from an A8-3820 and wanted something stronger. The A8-3850 pretty much did the job and didn't break the bank. I could see a difference between the two cpu. I thought about the A8-3870k, but from the reviews, it wasn't worth it. Despite being used, it works and in really great condition. If you plan on upgrading your fm1socket type cpu, the A-8 3850 is the best bang for the buck.

Processor does not sit flat on its socket. Some pins might be bend. I did not install it.

Not a powerhouse but highest possible upgrade for my older consumer grade HP Pavillion Desktop. added 8 GB ram as well and has a noticeable improvement. My kid even benefits from the less lagging of her online games.

Some of the pins came bent, but that was a simple fix. Other than that, works like a charm! Performs reasonably well for the price. It can even play some (very) light games, run emulators, and perfect 1080p YouTube playback. Fantastic little guy.

This upgrade enhanced the speed of this older machine to bring it more in line with the current requirements for online education as well as some games.
