When I First Heard About A Terabyte I Realized How Awesome It Would Be To Not Have To Buy So Many DVD-R/RWs To Store Stuff..1,000GB Is A LOOOooot Of Space...Except When I Plugged It In And Connected The USB, Turned It On...932GB? Don't Get Me Wrong..That's Still A LOT Of Space..But Not 1,000GB. Do I feel "Misled" By This Being Called 1TB? Uhm..Yeah. But As Long As You Know That This Is A Little Less Than What You'd Expect..You Won't Be Disappointed. The Drive Is Silent,Works Fast Even Using USB 1.0 . Excellent Buy, I Still Recommend It...Just Not 1TB.
Great item, I bought it to use for movies and music so I could watch movies at work since I work as a security guard overnights and it would be a long boring night without them. I found the item to have more than enough storage for what I need, but good to have more than you need than not enough. Item is very easy to use and very durable. Overall, if I had to buy another external Hard Drive, I would buy another Iomega 1TB HDD. The only downside is that the item requires an external power source and it is a little bulky.
-Needed to consolidate two other 350 GB external hard drives in order to free up space and ports on my desk top computer. -This new one works great! -it is everything and more than I expected from a 1 TB eternal hard drive. -At this point I have no dislikes when it comes to this product. -It is highly recommended compared to the other external hard drives I have used in the past.
I bought this external hard drive as a birthday present for my "very techie" husband. He loves having so much space to back up his computer and to store our movies. While it is a bit more bulky than I was first looking for, this external doesn't overheat like his old one or randomly turn off. And the fact that it is a little more bulky than some made it less expensive, so that was a plus for me. It has been very reliable, and my husband is very happy with it!
I bought this refurbished thinking it would be like a Toshiba external hard drive I own. The toshiba is organized and asks where you wish to store items on the drive, under music etc and communicates with those files on your PC and puts them in the same place for storage. This one has no start up menu and is hap hazard. After transferring files to it for storage, I could not find many important ones and lost my Favorites and all of my desk top icons and shortcuts on my PC. I do not recommend.
