Decent performance and the sound isn't too loud. The fans at full speed are much louder, but even at 100% cpu utilization, the fans seem to go up to the second lowest setting. Only bit downside is there are only two 3.5" bays available, but what else can you expect from a 1U machine? I have 2 of these in a battery backup and it registers ~60 watts of power consumption when they're idle (2 7200RPM HDDs and 1 SSD total).

This machine consumes very little power and can be tucked away almost anyplace. It is also pretty quiet when compared to many servers that are really loud; however, even at a very low noise idle, it is going to be noticeably louder than a standard PC, so if you are looking for a silent server, this is not what you want. Plus = Small size, economical to purchase operate. Minus = hardwired bays (not hot swap).

The server was shipped quickly and all of the hardware seemed to check out fine using the Lifecycle Controller. After upgrading the firmware (BIOS, iDRAC, LC, etc.), I installed Windows Server 2012 R2 without a problem (had to use BIOS mode as UEFI didn't detect the SSD). A pleasant surprise was the inclusion of the bezel, which was not included in the description of the item, so I'm not sure if each server will come with one or not.

Server works great. It is configured as a firewall . However, somewhat disappointed that it was mentioned that the drive tray was missing. Overall a good unit and working well. I believe this will provide reliable service for a long time.

The server was shipped quickly. It set up easily. I’m running the PFSense firewall, router and security system on it and it is performing very well. It’s performance is much better than any $200 home router.
