I use this as a backup and storage for audio production files that I work on. It's not a high performance drive nor is it really designed to be used all the time. I've used about 5 different kinds of Western Digital hard drives in the past 3 years now and have never had a problem with them. I also have a Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB drive that I've had for about 6 or so months in the same rig and it's been working beautifully as well. I gave the "value for money" two stars because anyone who has kept up with hard drive prices in the past 2 years knows that they are ridiculous. I paid $64.00 for this drive USED (but it came with a nice warranty). That's about how much they were going for new around the same time last year. You can't really complain if you're willing to pay the price though.Read full review
Fair piece of equipment but alas the socalled refurbished units aren't don't come ready to use [formatted] or recognizable as and ancellary HD. Means that if you have a laptop that you are going to use it as a backup storage unit you need to drag out your desktop unit to recognize and format that thing from the 'C' Drive position.
good for external hd, a good buy
