The iMac Desktop computer is visually stunning to behold, with all its elements, including the CPU, monitor, and speakers contained within one space-saving area. Yet this great outer design has some drawbacks. All USB recepticles for peripherals and speakers, as well as the power button are at the bottom rear of the unit. That provides an overall uncluttered area, but it is less convenient to access. Once the computer is powered-up the incredibly gorgeous display is startling. As a long-time Windows user I had some difficulty getting to know the Mac OS, and I bought several independent guides to help me get started, since the little manual supplied with the Mac is practically useless. The OS, Snow Leopard X contains many included applications (or in Windows lingo, "programs") that should fulfill many of the needs of most users, although specialists in certain areas will want to install more advanced applications. I had my Mac equipped with an app that allows for it to run on the Windows 7 OS so that I can continue to use them along with those that I may purchase for use with the Mac. However, I have had problems getting my printers, scanner and external hard drives to work well, even when Mac drivers were installed, and Mac Support, although fast, responsive, and thoroughly professional can offer little advice for any independant programs used for running the dual operating systems. I hope that with time and experience more will be learned. The iMac has a built-in feature, Boot Camp that allows the hard drive to be partitioned on-the-fly and a full version of Windows, as well as Unix to be installed, but one can't share files between the two operating systems using this format. Another plus for the Mac is the obvious choice of the finest built-in components available. Sadly, except for adding additional RAM, no components can be added internally, at least not by a skilled technician. PC users, however CAN add or upgrade internal hard drives, sound and video cards, mother boards, and more. Then again, the MAC's internals are so good that few may see the need for making internal changes. Overall as I become more proficient with the Mac, both inside and out, I'm confident that I'll come to LOVE, rather than merely like this lovely computer!Read full review
Excellent cpu, easy and friendly GUI. Paired with a nice size hard drive and ample RAM (12GB) these high quality built computers can last forever. This is the last iMac model with a desktop based graphics card and it shows in performance and image clarity with the LCD TFT display. All the needed ports are on the back and easily hidden for a clean desktop appearance. This year/model CPU can become a powerhouse with a few simple modifications, i.e SSD, and upgraded ram sticks (1066 MHz) from OWC.

This is my first experience with an apple. Having had Pc's for decades, it feels as if I were driving a Lexus as compared to the low end cars. The small keyboard takes a little getting used to and the mouse is perhaps not as easy to use as the better microsoft wireless ones, but it has probably redirected my future computer use. I bought it because it just looked and felt great at one of the stores. I'm glad I did, and I'm especially pleased with the Ebay vendor with whom I dealt. He has been fantastic!!
i love the size of it, and it really runs fast, the screen on it shows beautiful,i would recommend any one to buy it if they want a good computer, it works good in my studio with pro tools.

I'm very very happy with this system. It's the ultimate machine for the web developer. The speed of the quad core i5 whistles pages in an instant. The disk space is like working in an empty warehouse. Lots of room to add what you need. This is what a lot of developers need. It's a huge machine that takes up a lot of space on a desk. If you have to live with the 21 inch, you'll be more than fine. You won't get the quad core with the 21 inch but the duo core would do just fine if you're not heavy into web development.
