The web interface is useless because it requires Java to work and most browsers make it a huge pain to enable it for administering the switch via the web console. There is no option to SSH to the switch, but the telnet connection works well enough and has a relatively easy to use text-based menu. The fans are a bit loud, so do not plan on installing the switch in a living space. I also have three of the 24-port version of this switch at the office, and they are working great as well. The biggest pro of the switch is that it has a lifetime warranty. Not for the lifetime of the product before it gets EOL'd, not for just the original owner with proof of purchase, but an actual humans' lifetime warranty that covers all except what I would classify as physical abuse. I have already warrantied a few of these out for dead ports and blown capacitors, and HP is very quickto resolve the issue, and will overnight replacement, for no cost to you. As an example, the warranty on the switch I just purchased is up on Feb 26, 2107. While I would like nothing more than to be around for another 90 years, this is a switch that my grandchildren could one day warranty out for a replacement (assuming everything isn't fiber optic or wireless by then)Read full review

These switches came in really good condition and are great for having them at the edge of your networks. They can handle many vlans, but they do not do routing, you're better off going a model newer if you are looking to replace your core switch. Great bang for your buck!
