I needed an Intel 6th or 7th Generation Intel socket LGA 1151 for my mining rig. Since my Asus B250 Mining Expert motherboard does not use Hyper-threading for mining, this 7th Generation i5 was right for me. Additionally, it is only slightly slower than the i7-7700K (not overclocked) and nearly half the price at $200. Processor is extremely quick and for basic tasks the PC is very very good. The on board graphics is ok, but for modern games you will need a graphics card. It is early days yet (only just installed) so I can't speak about reliability but so far I am happy.
