This review is long but I attribute the majority of my happiness to this drive! I have an older Dell Inspiron 1525 that still worked but was getting slow. I decided to look at the options online. New laptop with 15" screen and i3 processor would be about $399-$550ish for a reputable brand. I looked into the specs of my laptop and found it used the socket P Pentium C2D 1.83GHz T2390 processor, 2Gb DDR2-667 memory and 160Gb 5400RPM HD. Through the world of Ebay, I found a used C2D 2.6GHz T7800, a single 2Gb stick of DDr2-800 and this Toshiba SATAIII SSD drive. I swapped out my parts and loaded my Linux Mint 17.3 x64. Performed updates and have been testing for about 2 weeks now. Boot time is about 10 seconds from push of power to usable desktop, reboot is about 15 seconds from clicking reboot until usable desktop. Google Chrome browser up and running in less than a second from clicking icon. Loading software and linux updates depends on the download speed obviously but the actual install time is quicker than any computer I've owned. It's sick to think that I spent about $60 including shipping and it runs faster than my work supplied Toshiba laptop with 8Gb DDR3 and i7 processor. It's not ever going to game but for internet surfing, shopping and downloading, this thing is a beast! $60 for another 5 years of use is worth it to me!Read full review

Great used SSD purchased used. It's the primary drive on the computer I'm typing from right now.

I cloned the HDD to this SSD. Then, I started the laptop with the SSD. The OS start and app start speeds are greatly improved. I am very happy with the result.
