I spilled Pepsi on my computer over Christmas break of college. After a lot of testing I found that the motherboard was fried and I'd need to buy a new case too. A friend ended up selling me a case and motherboard that supported a LGA 1155 socket. I looked up the best CPU for that socket and after debating between the 3570, 3570k, 3770, and the 3770k I decided on the 3570. I was able to have a working computer that performs as well as, or possible even better than my AMD FX-8350 with the same R9 290. I am extremely happy with my purchase. It works flawlessly, and stays at a great temperature even with a stock Intel heat-sink. This made the spilling the soda on my computer okay because for about $300 I'll now have two good computers once I buy the other motherboard for my AMD CPU. For only $116 including the shipping this was a great deal. It also arrived very quickly, within a week give or take a few days.Read full review

The first chip installed is considerably newer than the original which it is replacing [an old Celeron] so I assume it could probably outperform it, should there have been a critical test, but the use has not changed any so it is just more than adequate and fine. The second one might be used to a bit more extreme level, hard to say, I will be using it in another tower on another motherboard with a much larger grafix card and more RAM, so we shall see then how it performs. Since I am not sure if you can update these, I am just going to say that although it required flashing a newer BIOS and some programs got lost in the translation, while other things were quirky, that might be because it is not identified by the OS [system data refuses to show] because of not being in the original software install, I do not know. It works well enough for what I need, so I am happy with it.Read full review

Be VERY careful when installing/removing CPUs from Intel 1155 sockets, the contacts are tiny and very fragile. The CPUs have a projecting section (cameo)on the bottom center with a rough surface. If the CPU is slid across the socket it can ruin it (and the motherboard). This CPU was a small upgrade from the 3470 it replaced, and is safer than the i7-3770 with 8 threads which has recently been found to be vulnerable to hacking because of the 8 thread architecture. It arrived promptly and appears to be quite healthy in a Z220 workstation. I do not game, I use this for surfing the web and watching movies, and it performs very well for these activities.

Not much to say. Only ranks 17% slower then an i7-7700 (per cpu userbenchmark com), same hardware features and spent 50% less to buy it!!! I use it for light gaming and Hyper-V virtual machines on my desktop.
