I bought this AM2 motherboard to replace an old ASUS board that had died from Capacitor Plague. This was cheap and listed as being brand new. The product arrived quickly and appeared sealed and brand new. It comes with just the MB, there are no cables, backplate or documentation included. Getting it to boot up proved initially problematic. There is little documentation on this Dell Product on the internet. In particular the Front Panel Connectors are not documented and Dell is notorious for using nonstandard connectors. Some trial and error lead to the finding that pins 5 and 6 are the power switch connectors. What was confusing was that pin 5 (with pin 7) is also used for the reset switch, meaning that you would need to have a 3 wire "L" shaped pin connector to have both power and reset functions. I sacrificed the reset function in order to use the power on switch with my case's standard 2 pin connector. The MB booted up at that point but would not post. This was because the 2032 CMOS battery that the MB shipped with was dead. Fortunately I had spares around the house and after replacing the battery the MB did boot up just fine. The MB asks you to enter a Dell Service Tag on first bootup. I just entered some random characters and from there I got into the BIOS and was able to configure the MB. I installed WinXP and eventually found ethernet drivers for the RTL8168 chip from the Realtek site (Dell's site does not have WinXP drivers for this MB as it apparently originally shipped with Vista). Drivers for the Chipset can be found on AMD's site (it uses the 780 chipset). After the initial difficulty getting the MB to boot up and finding drivers, I am pleased to report that it has been running WinXP flawlessly. There are 4 memory slots for DDR2 ram, a Gigabit ethernet port, 1 PCIE x16, 1 PCIE x4 and 2 PCI slots available. There is even a firewire port and 6 output jacks for the audio. I've had no system crashes or blue screens and am hoping that this lasts a good long time. Overall, if you have need a good cheap AM2 MB and are willing to do a little work to get it running, this is a good choice.Read full review

Pro - got it fast, installed for a client Con - Didn't even last a month, had a damaged capacitor that burst and client only used it twice. Had to order another one at nearly 3x the price.
