The interesting thing about this is the thunderbolt interface, which so far has produced better transfer speeds than USB3 but causes *extremely* high CPU usage and has caused video card kernel panics in the 2010 Mac Pro [which is why it only has 4 stars]. It doesn't have any active cooling but it seems well ventilated. I swapped out the 2TB drives in it with 3TB ones I had, and it seems to work fine - I would guess it have the exact same controller in it as does the Duo 8T. If you can get them for a reasonable price, it's actually far cheeper than buying a SATA to Thunderbolt adapter, and looks much nicer on the desk than an adapter would.
