Modern, brand new CPUs in the same price range may offer similar or superior performance, but they come with the added cost of a new motherboard and RAM. This single component upgrade brought my current system into being a solid performer, saving me that extra expense. I do a combination of gaming, video encoding, and software development, but I don't really do anything highly demanding. Not many modern games, minimal real-time encoding, and few large scale programs to compile. If you do, I might recommend something else, or at least the regular, non-L variant of this processor. I've been using this CPU for a couple of months now, and have found that in my case (pun not intended but certainly welcome), with my HSF and airflow, I'm seeing a steady 3.3Ghz Turbo Boost when all four cores are under 90-100% load during a heavy video encode. Maxed out at about 53C and under 50W according to Core Temp, for whatever that's worth to you. Substantially higher performance compared to my old dual core with no hyperthreading, but lower power consumption and heat; I couldn't be happier! If you're like me, with only modest performance demands, and especially coming from something comparatively anemic like my G3258, this is an excellent choice to keep an aging 1150 system viable without breaking the bank.Read full review

Speedpak is not speedy by any means, something like 32 days but considering Covid 19 and that it has quite the trip it was tolerable, the processor is amazing and runs perfectly for my intentions.
