This Surface Book has everything that I wanted in a laptop. It was small, lightweight, fast processor and plenty of storage. Unfortunately, the reason I chose this computer was because Microsoft stated the battery life was 12 hours. I figured they always embellish a little but if I could get ten hours it would be great. I get at most six hours out of this battery which is extremely disappointing. In addition, the battery has a problem where it drains when the computer is turned off. So you may fully charge it at night but in the morning the battery is already down to 90%. If you are looking to buy this computer for the long life battery then you will probably be disappointed.

While battery life falls short of the manufacturer claim, it beats the hell out of other "performance" laptops. In my opinion. it's impressive. Graphics performance is terrific. My Surface Book is loaded with the Adobe Suite and it hums along beautifully even when running multiple intensive applications. Storage is pretty small but it's also 100% solid state so it's quick. Most noteworthy is system stability. I reboot my laptop once per week and I have not yet suffered any "windows" issues such as blue screen etc. Been using it for 6 months now and I honestly couldn't be more impressed. If I needed to replace it today, I would choose the exact same Surface as a replacement without hesitation. Microsoft took control of both software and hardware with the surface book line just like Apple always has. It should come as no surprise that the Surface Book with Performance Base is competing so tightly with Apple. Throw in the included stylus pen and the comparison ends right there. Buy this computer and you'll be pleased. Especially if you're a graphic artist.Read full review
