The switch functions out of the box, no set up is possible. Four of the 8 ports are PoE and can power up to 57 watts of devices downstream. I ran three PoE devices and a couple of other ethernet 100BT lines with no issues. The network connection takes one of the 8 ports as there is no separate WAN port. The plug for the AC adapter is acceptable but not firmly mated and can fall out if lightly tugged. Securing the cables in the network shelf fixed that.

You plug in a POE device, and it gets powered. That's about all there is to it. The power adapter appears to be of good quality. I have not been able to test it with a heavy load of multiple devices and long ethernet cables, but, it works as a desktop switch with a phone.
